Imperial War Museum/London
Hi everyone,
The pics/video take awhile to upload. I won't have as many posts as originally thought.
I went on a school visit(field trip) with Brenna. We took a coach(bus) to London to the Imperial War Museum. They have been studying World War II, particularly "The Blitz". This is the period of time that London experienced air raids. They learned about the home front, food rations, children evacuations, self made shelters, blacking out the lights at night, etc. The Museum is amazing. It was an incredible way for Brenna to learn about World War II first hand. I want to go back. There just wasn't enough time to see everything and keep track of 7 lovelys. I am fascinated by all of the museums. They are all free! They do not allow you to chaperon your own child in your group. It was just fine. Our paths crossed a few times and we all ate in a lunch room together. It was a great way to get to know some of the kids. I took a picture of my group. They are sitting on these little folding chairs. It's not because you will find them hanging on walls throughout museums. You can just pull a chair off the wall and have a sit if you're tired.
I have also included some random photos we took while riding the London Eye.
Something crazy that each of us have noticed is that everyone has a clone. I swear God has probably made a version of a person and placed them in each culture. I have randomly seen people that remind me of someone from the States. Even people that I haven't seen in years. We were driving in the car the other day and Taryn said, "it's so weird, I see people that remind me of someone at home.' Brenna said, " hey that same thing happens to me." Then Russ said, I know exactly what you mean. It could even be people that were just acquaintances. Like, I have seen people that look like other's clients back home. It is the wildest thing! I'm looking forward to seeing all of our friends' clones.
Here are a few words that I haven't mentioned yet... vacuum flask/thermos, hob/stove, rubber/eraser(that one still gets me), rasher/bacon, banger/sausage, daft/foolish, stupid, dodgey/not quite right, and a really weird one...surgery/Dr. office

Connelys in UK
Hello Everyone,
Welcome to our blog. Thank you to Laurie for the suggestion. It goes to show, it's not what you know, it's who you know. Friends, you gotta have friends, la la la.... Here are the videos I have been trying to email or upload to Facebook. Hopefully they'll make more sense. I will try and capture more interesting stuff. Also, it seems I learn a new word everyday. I will include that as well. Like for instance, there was longan in the yogurt I just bought. It is a pulpy fruit that grows on a tree in East India. I guess that makes sense because Indian food is very prevalent here. Also, we have needed our brollies (umbrellas)the last few days. Thanks to everyone for your love and support. It helps to be able to communicate with you all. It's fun having electronic pen pals.
